Stimulation of the ear to activate the cerebral cortex
Over 80% of sensory stimulation comes from your ear. Whether you are awake or asleep, your ear is constantly bombarding your brain with stimuli. By the fourth month of pregnancy, the fetal ear is the first fully functional organ.
The cochlea located in the inner ear is responsible for “activating the cerebral cortex”. Stimulation of the ear is therefore necessary for it to be able to activate the brain and the body in turn. Sounds rich in high harmonics stimulate a huge neuronal network – known as the ‘reticular formation’ – which controls the overall level of brain activity.
This is why we mainly use Mozart’s violin concertos, known for their beneficial effects.
